Citizen Potawatomi Nation has a lot of partnerships with the local government in the county that bares its name, from hosting the Pottawatomie County 911 Dispatch Center to funding county road improvement projects.
That partnership officially started in 1988, when the Tribe, then-known as the Citizen Potawatomi Band of Indians worked together with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Pottawatomie County Commissionerss to access $950,000 in federal funds to repave four miles of Hardesty Road.
