The Citizen Potawatomi Nation Veterans Organization met in January and elected officers. We re-elected Bill Wano and David Barrett for another year — Wano as secretary and Barrett as treasurer. Both have done an excellent job for several years. We elected one new officer, Derek Skaggs, as our vice-commander. Herb Holton agreed to continue as our color guard and honor guard team leader. Holton has made our color and honor guards a major success.
Remember, the CPN Veterans Organization meets around 6 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month in the North Reunion Hall on the Potawatomi Powwow Grounds near Shawnee, Oklahoma. All CPN and spouse veterans and their families are welcome. A meal is provided.
