As we enter the third year of having an established Citizen Potawatomi Nation Department of Education, our team developed our annual report to reflect on the successes and challenges we face as we serve our Tribal students. Our portal, which the CPN Information Technology Department built in-house, has become increasingly sophisticated and has allowed us to review and award scholarships efficiently.
We awarded more scholarships this past fiscal year than ever before (3,824 total scholarships in FY 2017-2018 vs. 3,448 total scholarship in FY 2016-2017). Our second annual Wzhitawen College & Career Fair was another highlight, with attendance increasing from 54 students our first year to 684 students this year.
Looking ahead, we will invest our resources in increasing and improving our advising services so that our citizens anywhere in the world can access help in reaching their educational goals.
