Bozho (Hello),
The Citizen Nation Potawatomi Veterans Organization’s Color Guard and Honor Guard has been busy this year with parades and various events in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and the local area. We have the Tecumseh Frontier Days Parade on Saturday, Sept. 28. Line up is from 8-9 a.m. and the parade begins at 10 a.m. at Locust Street and proceeds through downtown Tecumseh. We would love to have CPN veterans and family join us on our parade trailer. We would like to have a good number of CPN veterans and their families to show support for the CPN tribe and its veterans. You don’t have to be a member of the CPN Veterans Organization to join us in parades, so bring the family and have a fun outing. We have our largest parade in October at the Wewoka Sorghum Festival on Saturday, Oct. 26. Line up should be at 8 a.m. at the north end of Main Street. The people of Wewoka love veterans and they show it with great enthusiasm. We always leave Wewoka filled with pride.
Remember the CPN Veterans Organization has a meeting/social gathering on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the North Reunion Hall located at the CPN Powwow Grounds. We have pizza and drinks for everyone. We start at 6 p.m. (or as soon as you can get there). Bring your family. You do not have to be a member of the CPN Veterans Organization to join us for good veteran fellowship. Show your veteran pride and join us on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
