Tribal citizen tailors childbirth experience to each mother

Kristen Arambula Hernandez, a birth doula and Indigenous breastfeeding counselor in Norman, Oklahoma, emphasizes the importance of reclaiming Tribal knowledge and tradition surrounding birth, breastfeeding and raising children.

Training highlights stalking awareness

January is designated as National Stalking Awareness Month. This January, House of Hope will be hosting a free event for the public that will focus on the dynamics of stalking and how to work with those affected by this crime. The event will be held on January 18 at 1 p.m. and located at CPN’s North Reunion Hall.

Trail cameras provide a unique view of CPN

Youth programs during summer 2021 provided an opportunity for the Citizen Potawatomi Nation to purchase and place trail cameras across its jurisdiction. The images help connect students to Mother Nature and open dialogue around conservation and land stewardship. The Nation now extends access to trail camera images through potawatomiheritage.com.

CPN and City of Shawnee sign historic cooperation agreement

Leaders from the Citizen Potawatomi Nation and City of Shawnee announced the launch of Shawnee Aligned, a new initiative wherein the two governments will seek opportunities to collaborate for the betterment of the Shawnee community.

CPN updates dilapidated sign at Tecumseh park

The Tribe replaced a dilapidated wooden sign with CPN tribal member and former Tecumseh City Manager Charles Martin’s name on it. The city park it stood in was named after him.
