“I made (the Model Potawatomi Village) for a school project in October 2018.  The wigwam was made of paper mache’. The trees were twisted paper bags and tissue paper. I included a canoe and wild rice growing in the water.  The fire was made of tissue paper and stones.  There is a hanging animal skin made of fabric and baskets of wild rice near the fire.  
I presented this at the District 2 Potawatomi Thanksgiving celebration.”

Submission 1 – Bikini Bottom.  This is a drawing (Jan. 2021), completely done in colored pencil, of one of her favorite cartoon characters, SpongeBob.  SpongeBob is feeding his pet snail, Gary.

Submission 2 – Koi.  This is the most recent drawing Lauren has created (June 2021).  It is made with water color, pencil and marker.  The Koi fish represent balance.

Submission 3 – Sunflowers.  This is also a recent drawing (May 2021), done in colored pencil.  The Sunflower is the State Flower of Kansas, and is a favorite flower of ours.  They stand tall, like Lauren, always facing the sun.

“This is a dragon. It is made of home-made Rice Krispie treats, corn tortillas and jelly beans.  It is almost completely edible, except for the tooth picks that hold the wings on the dragon.”
